Details
The Travellers Rest (Formerly known as the Corner Pin) is a wonderfully preserved traditional country pub situated on the corner of High Street and Moor Top Road at Apperknowle. It offers 5 real ales, including 3 guest ales at any one time, and is home to some of the best regular live music around.  You can be sure of a warm welcome from hosts, Dave and Arlene Taylor.

All of the above makes this venue a popular place for early bar and late bar drinkers alike, walkers, and families.

The Lounge has a wonderful open fireplace and oak beams, and is reputed to be haunted by a local Lady, Charlotte Amiss, who played the drums whilst customers sang and watched her dog dance for pennies
.

Offshot to the lounge is the pool room and darts board, and is one of the few venues where dominoes is a popular afternoon pastime for the locals. As well as offering live entertainment, there is a great juke box, Quiz and Fruit machines.

Tuesday night kicks off the week with a music quiz from the 60s through to the 90s hosted by well known Peak FM presenter, Richard Spinks, together with a game of Bingo, Open the Box and Play Your Cards Right. A jackpot prize is available plus other prizes galore.

Thursday night is a free and easy jamming session, and Sunday evening is simply acoustic, where anyone 'unplugged' is welcome!

A quality live band can generally be seen on the last Saturday of every month, with occasional Sundays over bank holiday periods.

Regular artists can be seen, with every last Monday of the month The New Orleans Jazz Band play, and on the second Monday 'Swingamathing' play - the little band with the BIG SOUND.

The last Friday of the month, the ever popular JJ Galway (and friends) play from 6.00 pm til 9.00 pm.

Outside is a good sized car park and Beer Garden with covered smoking area.

If you are looking for a great venue with friendly hosts and locals, make sure you pay a visit to The Travellers Rest.
