St. John the Baptist C. of E. Parish Church, Dronfield, dates from the 12th century and is at the centre of the town. For hundreds of years it was the only place of worship in our community. We rejoice that the building is open all day and is there to be used by both individuals and groups and to serve as a visual reminder of the presence of God in our community.

Our worship on Sunday provides both traditional and informal forms of worship. At Parish Communion the choir of 30 men, women, boys and girls, leads the singing. Our weekly Family Service is an opportunity for a less formal service where parents, children and young people as well as newcomers to church are most welcome.

Midweek our daily morning prayers are at 9.00am and there is a well attended Wednesday Holy Communion Service as well as Worship with Mother.

St. John the Baptist C. of E. Church has an adjacent Churchyard, the Town Memorial Garden and a near-by Hall and Parish Office. The Mothers' Union and the Over-21 Group and many house groups are always delighted to welcome new members. The 'Chatterbox After School Club' caters for younger members.

St. John the Baptist C. of E. Church takes very seriously the opportunities to serve the many people who come to us for Baptism, Thanksgivings, Marriages and Funerals and we value our ministry to people at these times. 


St. John the Baptist C. of E. Church Services:

Sundays as follows:
8.00 am Holy Communion (Order 2)
9.30 am Holy Communion (Order 1) (Morning Prayer 3rd Sunday)
11.15 am Family Service (Communion 3rd Sunday)
6.30 pm Evening Prayer (Communion 3rd Sunday)

Daily Morning Prayers at 9.00 am.

On Wednesday mornings at 10.00 am there is a service of Holy Communion

On Monday afternoons (the 1st and 3rd in the month) at 2.00 pm there is a service for parents and pre-school children - "Worship with Mother"
