Details
The Spotlight Theatre Dance & Performing Arts school is based at The Michael Church, Lowedges, and is run by highly qualified Teachers of the International Dance Teachers Association (IDTA).

Owners, Hayley Whitehead and Sally Wragg, both graduates of the highly acclaimed Constance Grant School offer classes in Ballet, Tap, Theatrecraft, Modern Jazz, Freestyle and Musical Theatre (Spotlight Performing Arts).  The ethics of the school are based firmly on creating a welcoming and friendly atmosphere where pupils can learn through fun and enjoyment.

Students range from the age of 3 to adult with classes held throughout the week and on Saturdays - see website link for full details of classes and timetables.

Spotlight Performing Arts is based on the IDTA Musical theatre Syllabus and involves singing, drama and dance.  This includes work on breathing techniques, improvisation, articulation, team building skills and self-expression which helps to build confidence.  New to the school is Tots in the Spots where children are welcomed from the age of 2 and accompanied by a parent.

Every 2 years the students have an opportunity to appear in the school's summer show (from tots to adults) to show off their talents to proud parents, families and friends.  Details to be published in the near future.

In addition to the above Spotlight are holding a summer school thanks to the roaring success of the last two years Monday 28th July, Tuesday 29th July, and Monday 4th and Tuesday 5th August from 10.00 am to 2.30 pm.

The school is open to anyone aged between 4 and 11 and is open to outsiders as well as existing Spotlight pupils.  Activities include team games, prop making, singing, musical theatre dance, role play, face painting, drama development, street dance, theatre knowledge, characterisation, and working with props.  It's all fun fun fun.

At the end of the Tuesday session there will be a short presentation for parents to see what their child has done, and each child will receive a certificate and medal on completion.

Price is £18 per day or £14 per day if all four days are booked.

To reserve a place please contact Sally on 07894 090049.
