Ski and Sport Ltd (previously Sportability), situated on Stubley Hollow, is in its 12th year of trading in ski equipment and ski holidays, both with retail and online sales.
Both equipment and ski-wear are top quality at excellent value for money. Burton snowboards, Atomic, Head, Armada and Salomon skis, Atomic, Head, Rossignol, Lange boots, Uvex helmets and Oakley goggles and sunglasses are among the best-selling brand names, and O'Neil, Ripcurl, Ice Peak, Trespass, and White Rock clothing offer excellent protection as well as the latest fashion designs - indeed you can purchase the latest Armada Coat so you can have the latest fashion on the slopes (see photo left), or perhaps just plain black kit is more your thing. There is a huge range of mix and match clothing from tots to adults, specifically designed for ultimate protection - both Ian and David are extremely knowledgeable on every item of clothing and equipment and are only too happy to advise.
If snow sports are not really your choice of holiday, don't disregard Ski and Sport clothing for other uses - the ski jackets are extremely popular with walkers and football spectators alike - the quality and durability of the jackets ensure extreme weather protection - perfect for standing on the touchline on a freezing Sunday morning! They also make excellent and lasting coats for school.
The guys also offer ski servicing and maintenance on all skis, which prolongs the life of the skis.
Another important service is boot fitting - having specialist boot fitters means that your boots will fit properly and could make the difference between your holiday being a fantastic one or a huge pain! Skiing is one of the few sports which amateurs will carry out for the longest periods of time - sometimes 7 to 8 hours of skiing non stop, and so comfortable footwear is of paramount importance. As well as being qualified boot fitters, Ian and David also offer customised foot beds moulded to the unique shape of the client's foot. For around £30, having a customised footbed can help relieve pressure on the arch of the foot, thus preventing classic back problems.
Ski and Sport are also an authorised agents for Skills Holidays, so they can offer great skiing holidays in Italy and Canada. Tailor made packages can be put together at reasonable prices. Skills are also a direct schools tour operator who work with many schools up and down the country.
