A new 5-a-side community football league kicked off at Gosforth Fields on Sunday 22nd January.
The 14-week season will run every Sunday with space available for up to sixteen teams to take part.
League Manager, Chris Socket, said, "We make it easy for teams and provide all equipment and qualified referee and organise everything from fixtures, league tables, everything our teams just enjoy and have fun!!."
The league is FA Affiliated with qualified referees officiating all matches which last 40 minutes, enough time to work up a good sweat. There is no entry or registration fee to the league and teams are able to use flexible squads.
Top quality individual trophies will be given to winners and runners-up whilst there is also a top goalscorer award. The National 6-a-side Cup is held every July and the top two teams from the league will qualify.
