Ex-professional Boxer, Andy Marlow has established his S18 Gym at The Akademy on Callywhite Lane.

The gym offers coaching and fitness sessions in Boxing, Mixed Martial Arts, Muay Thai, Wrestling and Brazilian Jujitsu.

Sessions are available for all ages and abilities from beginners to fighters, ladies only classes, junior kickboxing and "fisticuffs" - designed for kids from 6 - 12 years.

Open sessions, as well as one to one training is available.

Andy has trained with some of the best, and coached Sheffield's own Clinton Woods in his early years.

Amongst its members is the Thai British Training Champion, Andrew Facey.

As well as being an excellent stress buster, boxing fitness training is a sure way of burning calories - up to 1020 calories in a 2-hour interval training session.

Andy runs an initiative for kids in the community from low income families, offering free membership, and training in fitness, boxing, and social skills.  Further details on request.

The benefits of this type of training is now recognised in schools as an important part of fitness discipline - from September 2009, our own Dronfield Henry Fanshawe School is supporting this initiative by involving pupils in fitness sessions at S18.

Look out for forthcoming events to support the Kids in the Community Project - from junior boxing competitions, to cage fighting!!

Open Training:
10.00 am - 12.00 pm and 4.00 pm - 6.00 pm  Monday to Friday

Junior Kickboxing:
6.00 pm - 7.00 pm  Monday and Wednesday

Thai Boxing:
7.00 pm - 9.00 pm Monday and Wednesday

Mixed Martial Arts:
7.00 pm - 9.00 pm Tuesday and Thursday
10.00 am - 12.00 pm and 12.00 pm - 2.00 pm Saturday

Open Sessions:
6.00 pm - 9.00 pm Friday

Available for Hire (£15 per hour)
Monday to Friday between 12.00 pm and 4.00 pm and Saturdays 2.00 pm - 4.00 pm
