About the Group
The Royalist Art Group was formed some 50 years ago by artists who appreciated the works of
Sheffield
artist and teacher Stanley Royle (1888 - 1966), a number of which are in the Sheffield Art Collection. He particularly liked painting outdoors the subjects in the surrounding area.
The Group named themselves after him and today have a membership of two dozen. Many of which paint together on field trips, in the summer season, and meet in Woodseats,
fortnightly, during winter evenings.
Currently, winter meetings are held on alternate Monday evenings from 7.45pm to 9.45 pm at St Chads Church House, 56 Abbey Lane, Sheffield.
