Dronfield is proud to have one of the longest serving and best Massage Therapy Consultants left in the country.  Richard Orrin started his business in his late 20s after qualifying at the prestigious West London School of Alternative Therapies, where there was less than a 50% success rate for students passing the intensive learning and qualifying process.

After graduating, his career path took an unexpected turn - rather than setting up a therapy clinic in the UK, he was offered an exciting opportunity to work in an exclusive resort in The Red Sea as Masseur and Physio to celebrities and other wealthy clients on vacation.  Whilst there, he met International Hair Stylist and entrepreneur, Vidal Sassoon, and was his masseur for the duration of his stay.  So impressed was Vidal that he offered Richard an opportunity to move to LA to be personal massage therapist to Vidal and his staff. 

However, family life was more important to Richard, and so over the next 15 years he travelled the world with his partner, Vivien, a bottle of oil and his incredible massage skills, working in countries such as the Middle East, Australia and Europe.  It was during which time he met with a 92 year old respected Indian, who taught him the art of meditation and true Indian Head Massage.

Richard moved back to the UK with his family 12 years ago and established a massage therapy service within a Physiotherapy Clinic in Sheffield.  More recently, he spreads his time between the Dronfield Clinic and Sharrowvale Road Clinic in Sheffield, as well as undertaking private work.  Seven years ago he qualified for a teaching diploma in anatomy, physiology and massage and shares his knowledge with a select number of students who can show they are as passionate about their work as he is.

The benefits of massage is to cleanse and detoxify the body of impurities, which is an essential foundation on which to address other issues.  Over the past 25 years, Richard has seen the need for massage therapy shift from skeletal and muscular problems to clients requiring help with stress-related conditions, migraines, poor digestion, depression, and bereavement.

Massage is not just about hands-on therapy; a key element is his incredible listening skills where clients are concerned, and in listening to problems, he can help to unlock emotional and stress blockage through massage.

A full body massage therapy session (one and a half hours) is £48, with an option for one hour for £38.
