Education in Dronfield
Dronfield's children are well served by the numerous local education establishments. All the local Infant and Junior schools regularly perform well in their OFSTED inspections and most of the children progress onto the main Secondary School in the area, Henry Fanshawe. To say that the people of Dronfield are spoilt for choice is an understatement. Anyone moving into the area will find all the local schools provide a happy and safe environment for learning and an excellent range of facilities for extra curricular activites.
The largest (and oldest) Junior School in the area is Dronfield Junior School (with approx 330 pupils), which shares a site with its younger counterpart, Dronfield Infants School. Numerous other smaller schools are spread out around the local communities to provide Primary education within easy walking distances of most homes.
A few of the schools will shortly be merging into a larger establishment on the Gladys Buxton site. Whilst there has been quite a bit of opposition to the amalgamation of the schools, the project appears to be going ahead.
