TOWN SENIORS AND RESERVES BOTH INTO CUP LAST 16

Dronfield Town Saturday Seniors put in a first class hard working performance to defeat Wirksworth 4-2 in the 3rd round of the challenge cup. Ricard Mintoff with a double and one each from Nick Horsfield and John Perkins to send Town into the last sixteen.


The Saturday Seniors Reserves continued their good form with a convincing 4-1 win over Premier league Ripley FC also in the challenge cup. In form Adam Fordham scored his second hat trick in three games and Aidan Ashton added to the scoreline with his seventh goal of the season. Jon Church was in great form as the team turned in their best performance of the season.

The Over 35’s cup run came to an end as they went bravely down 2-0 to Premier League high flyers Stocksbridge Park Steels.

The Under 16’s played well below par going down 6-1 to Handsworth Hornets. 

Despite the defensive efforts of James Dean the Under 16’s (Colts) also suffered a setback going down 7-3 to Brampton Rovers. Tom Dixon, Sam Bradwell and  Tom Collier with the Town goals.

Goalkeeper Adam Ramsay really shone for the Under 14’s who drew 2-2 with Millmoor Juniors.  Jack Lambert with a superb strike and Dom Spooner with an impressive finish. 

A goal apiece from the consistent Conor Alderson and Alex Pugh were enough to see the Under 12's edge past Porter FC. Town had most of the game which wasn't reflected in the scoreline. There were excellent performances from Conor Lindsey, Alex Childs and Luke Myles.

The Under 12’s (Colts) were beaten by Warsop. Chris Prime having a fine game

The Under 11’s were once again worth winners defeating Ashleigh 3-2 thanks to two from Mitchell Howson and one from Alex Lambert.

Driven on by Isaac Tilly, a much depleted Under 10’s still managed to put on a top class show to beat Crosspool 7-5. Elliot Beeden with two and one each from Tyler Cooper, Luke Gregory, the in form Jake Tyson,  Dan Critchley and Charlie Crown. Ben Hattersley was well worth a special mention for volunteering to play in goal.  

The Under 16’s (Girls) beat Sheffield Rangers 2-1 in the 1st Round of the Cup.
Amy Garland was in great form with her decisive wide play and was also on the scoresheet scoring direct from a corner. The other goal coming from Ellie Robinson. The girls have now won six straight home games.
