Details

The Drifters were formed in 2010, the basis for the drifters came about from 3 players that had recently lost touch with the game due to commitments away from the sport.

We as a club aim to attract players who too struggle to commit to week in week out training and playing, those players that have young family commitments, or those players that have been lost to the game for many years, but would still like to put on a pair of boots on a weekend and have a game of rugby and finally any new players to the sport with our squad of experienced players both on and off the field this would help the new players have the enjoyment of the game of rugby league yet still progress their skill levels from taking advise and learning from the more experienced players.
 
We are a family friendly club, who not only aim to be successful on the field but bring back the fun and social aspect of the game of Rugby League, which over the years has sometimes disappeared from amateur rugby league, as clubs tend to try too hard to stress a professional approach to what is at the end of the day still an amateur sport. We feel with our unique approach this will build a huge team moral and each player will pull together for each other as you would for any of your mates. This we feel will bring us the success on the field and indirectly develop a professional approach unconditionally.

This is a Unique Team and you will see that from the requirements and methods the team uses. We are looking for those players who still enjoy the playing aspect of the sport. Those players that have other commitments eg family, work etc. Those players who look to built a team social side along with the playing aspect. Do you feel you are matching the requirements so far? Team Methods -

  • No Training
  • Potential Free Stash
  • Personal Kit - (you wash it) and customise yourself
  • Compulsary 1hr team meeting the week before the game, purely to select team. (Thursday so can watch the National League Rugby on Sky)
  • Match Day Team Selected by Lottery format, this includes players names and their position for the weekends game.
  • Substitutions to occur after 10 mins into game, this too is done via a lottery picking a number 1 - 13 to replace.
  • Captain Selection - Picked Lottery format on weekly meeting.
  • Goal Kicker and Kick Off Kicker - Picked Lottery format on weekly meeting.
  • Team Mascot
