Dronfield Dolphins is managed by a committee of volunteers elected each year at the Annual General Meeting, held in November. Any Parent of a squad member can be nominated and elected, the only requirement being that they are committed to attend a management meeting once a month and to take on one of the functions.
For example to operate, the club needs Coaches and poolside staff, a Chairperson to manage the meetings and to be the voice of the committee, a Secretary to co-ordinate all the paperwork within the club and its affiliated associations in the A.S.A. A Treasurer to manage the finances of the club, collect fees and pay the pool fees etc.
Currently the executive of the club consists of a Chairperson, Secretary, Treasurer, Membership Officer, Team Manager, Assistant Team Manager, Open Gala & Records Officer, Swim Shop Sales Officer and three Parent Member Representatives.
The running of Dronfield Dolphins is similar to that of a small business, the difference being that the management team are volunteers, managing 22 hours of swimming time each week encouraging and developing 120 swimmers.
