A little bit of chic has arrived on Dronfield bottom, where Carolina Dessi has established her ladies shoe business. Not afraid of getting her hands dirty, Carolina quickly got stuck into the work required to transform the premises which was once a home to oil, grime and bicycle parts, to the smart, stylish outlet which today houses some of the finest brands of Italian and Spanish shoes and handbags.

And there is something for everyone, with a range of styles and prices to suit all occasions - from a mid-priced shoe at £29 to match an outfit for a night out in town, to a beautiful hand-made shoe by Renata for that special occasion.

All the designs are hand-picked by Carolina and husband, Gian Carlo in Bologna, Venice and Florence. Many of the handbags are one-offs and range from casual, funky and vibrant to chic high-class Italian leather.

There is a lovely range of Italian men's ties, and ladies scarves, and a beautiful giftware of Venetian Masques.

To complete the look, you can pick up lovely pieces of Venetian glass jewellry, which start from as little as £9.00.

Carolina plans to expand her business with her own hand-made Italian Confetti, more commonly known as wedding and christening favours.

To complement the business, The Shoe Loft is due to open next door very shortly, to make shopping for children's and ladies shoes a one-stop-shop! One thing is for sure, you will be made very welcome in either - or both - shops.
