About the Helpline

Careline provides a confidential crisis telephone counselling service for children, young people and adults.


Call us:

Mon-Fri: 10am-1pm & 7pm-10pm


Careline exists:

  • To provide a confidential, empathetic and supportive crisis telephone counselling service to children, young people and adults.
  • To listen and offer support and help at the moment of crisis or concern; not to make moral judgements or attempt to make decisions for the caller.
  • To provide a comprehensive information system of other agencies and support groups throughout the country.
  • To provide a face-to-face counselling service for adults, thereby enabling counselling to be available for those who might otherwise find it beyond their means.
  • To provide an Anti-Bullying Outreach Programme, to provide workshops on bullying awareness and assertiveness to local children.
  • To offer continuous training, supervision and development to our volunteer counsellors.
  • To extend publicity on a greater scale throughout the country to enable our service to become more widely known.
  • To continuously monitor and develop as an agency.
