Details
Based at the heart of Dronfield, Alfred Dunham & Son Funeral Directors have been serving the community since 1919.
The business was founded by the late Alfred Dunham (pictured left), a joiner by trade, who made coffins for the local funeral director at the time.
Alfred's son, John joined the business at an early age, and later John's son, David, was brought into the fold and heads up the business today.
Alfred Dunham is not tied to any form of co-operative, and the benefits are clear:
* No sales targets to meet: advice is offered purely on the wishes and circumstances of each individual client.
* All aspects of the funeral arrangements can be taken care of (with the exception of registering the death), including advice on type of service, flowers, notifications, music and reception requirements.
* There is an in-house fleet of Mercedes Limousines for hire. Alternatively, horse drawn carriages can be arranged if desired.
* All types of funerals are catered for with respect for culture and belief, whether a religious or civil service is required, and including arrangement of woodland burials.
* All areas considered, including out of town.
* The funeral home offers a 24 hour service, and has a private chapel of rest, where family can visit the deceased in peaceful and dignified surroundings.
* Pre-Payment Plans: A pre-payment plan is available which guarantees to cover the financial costs when required in the future, and also to see that a client's wishes met.
The money is placed in a trust fund until such time that it is required, and covers the practical financial elements such as cremation/burial costs, number of cars, & casket type. *Importantly*, the plan also covers the cost of all disbursements, which many plans linked to larger organisations don't.
The client's wishes regarding type of service, choice of hymns or recorded music, and any other personal requests are noted, giving peace of mind that they will be given the funeral they would want, rather than leaving important decisions such as these to family or friends.
Alfred Dunham & Son is a member of the National Association of Funeral Directors, whose code of practice sets out the highest standard of service that bereaved families may expect from their chosen funeral director.
With Alfred Dunham & Son, you can be sure your loved one is in safe hands.
