The Akademy Gymnasium

The main machine room has the latest cardiovascular resistance and weight-lifting machines, as well as cross-trainers, rowing machines and steppers.

The separate studio room is where all aerobic and fitness classes are held, The studio room, but also doubles as a stretching area, with mats, pilates balls, and sit-up machines.

There is a range of classes, please contact Andy for further details.

There is also a dedicated free-weights room with plenty of equipment and space for every one of all levels.

At the end of a hard session you can take advantage of the sauna.
 
The monthly membership fee of £23.00 includes:-

* No contracts.
* No Joining Fees.
* Free Exercise programmes.
* Free Inductions.
* Free nutritional advise.

All of the instructors are professionally qualified to give expert advise.

Membership is also available on a Fortnightly or Daily Rate if this suits your budget better.

S18 Boxing

S18 Gym - Boxing, MMA, Muay Thai and Brazilian Ju Jitsu

S18 gym is NE Derbyshire premier Martial Arts and Boxing Facility. We cater for all standards from Pro Fighters to complete beginners and all ages. Open training sessions and classes 6 days a week Monday to Saturday. One to one boxing training also available.

The Coaches are fully qualified with the British Boxing Board of Control and EKBJ and have over 50 years of combined experience in coaching. They can help you develop in Pro Boxing, Mixed Martial Arts (MMA), Muay Thai boxing and Brazilian Ju jitsu.

The gym is fully equipped with:

* 15ft boxing ring,
* 35 square meter matted area,
* 8 punch bags,
* A full range of body weight and suspension training equipment
* Full range of boxing and thai pads

There is also a full range of supplements and equipment for sale.

The S18 gym has had much success since opening 2 years ago with a number of members fighting competitively out of the S18 Gym. Some of its successes include:

* Pro boxer Adam Etches is fighting for Ricky Hatton promotions and is currently unbeaten with a 100% KO record.
* Thai Boxer Alan Willis won the K1 European Title in Nottingham against a tough Polish opponent
* Magus "the Freak" Frykman has competed all over Europe in MMA competitions and is on the verge of a UFC debut
* Dan Konecke competed and won in the British No Gi BJJ with less than 2 years experience

Boxing

Opening times:

10am to 12pm Mon - Fri open training

4pm to 9pm - Mon - Fri (7pm on Fridays) Open training until 6pm. Classes after 6pm

Sat open 10-12 boxing and Kids sessions 12 - 1.15 BJJ Gi classes

Class times:

Thai Boxing - Monday and Wednesday 7-9

MMA - Tues and Thurs 7-9

Mixed Boxing circuit training - Tues & thurs 6-7

Kids MMA - Mon & wed 6-7.15

Kids Boxing sat 10am - 11.30am

1 to 1 boxing coaching available in day
